Your data is yours
Match Mindset has no account system, no analytics and no advertising. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign in to. Everything the app knows about you stays on your device.
What the app stores
Match Mindset keeps the following on your device, in the app's own storage:
- The games you imported: opponent, date, time, venue, and home or away.
- Your lock settings: how early each game locks, and the overnight window.
- Your app and category selections, held by iOS as opaque tokens the app cannot read the names out of.
- The websites you added to the locked list.
- Whether an emergency unlock is running, and how many free preview games are left.
Your calendar
If you import from a calendar, Match Mindset reads the events you point it at so it knows when your games are. It copies the game details it needs into its own storage and does nothing else with your calendar. It never writes to it, and it never sends events anywhere.
Schedule links
If you import from a link instead, your device fetches that URL directly from the team's site or calendar feed and reads the games out of it. The request goes to the address you pasted and nowhere else. There is no Match Mindset server in between, and the link is not shared or logged off your device.
Apple Health
The Sleep tab is opt-in and read-only. If you allow it, Match Mindset reads your sleep, resting heart rate and heart rate variability so it can compare the nights before your games with your other nights. That comparison is calculated on your device and shown only to you. Nothing is written back to Health, and nothing is transmitted anywhere. Declining Health access has no effect on locking.
Screen Time
Locking apps and websites uses Apple's Screen Time framework, which requires your permission. Your selections are stored by iOS as privacy-preserving tokens: the app can lock an app you chose without ever learning which app it is. Match Mindset receives no usage data: not which apps you open, not how long you spend in them, not how often you hit the shield.
Apple Music
If you turn on the optional playlist button, Match Mindset reads the names of your Apple Music playlists so you can pick one, and plays the one you picked when you tap the button. It never changes your library and never sends your listening anywhere.
Third-party services
Match Mindset uses no third-party analytics, tracking, attribution or advertising services. Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. The app is told whether a subscription is active and nothing more, and it never sees your payment details. Apple Health, Screen Time, Apple Music and the App Store are subject to Apple's privacy policy.
Diagnostics
Settings has a diagnostics report you can generate and share if something is not working. It contains only counts and internal state (whether Screen Time access was granted, whether a lock is running, how many games are scheduled) plus the app's own event log. It never contains your schedule details, the websites you added, or anything about how you use your phone. It is created only when you ask for it, and it goes only where you choose to send it.
Children
Match Mindset is built for athletes, and some of them are minors. That is exactly why it collects nothing: there is no account, no profile, no analytics and no advertising, so there is nothing to collect from a child or anyone else. The app does not knowingly gather personal information from users of any age.
Deleting your data
Your data is never sent off your device or associated with an account. Deleting the app removes everything it stored, including the shared storage its extensions use. Screen Time, Calendar, Health and Apple Music permissions can be withdrawn at any time in the Settings app.
